Help Leeds get a new interpreting resource: your views needed on the use of interpreters in the third sector!

Please help us by completing this questionnaire: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfLanzoYhc6D4oLtQmfAjDlaOQQRsATiHiI-rccD4I5z0xjCw/viewform?usp=sf_link%2

Leeds Volunteer Interpreting Service (LVIS) is a proposed service run by a partnership of organisations involved in the Leeds migrant sector. We are developing a project which will provide a shared hub of volunteer interpreters for third sector organisations in Leeds to access. We know there is a strong need for better access to interpreting services, along with a need for development opportunities and support for interpreters. We expect this project to become a valuable resource in the city, increasing access to high quality interpreting and providing training, career development and high level support to volunteer interpreters.

In order to deliver this project effectively, we are currently consulting with third sector and community organisations, current interpreters and people who have needed interpreters.

Here is a link to a questionnaire for organisations to complete, that will help us to understand what current experiences and needs are, and help us make sure the project effectively meets current needs. The questionnaire should take less that ten minutes to complete and the data collected will be extremely valuable to the development of this project. If you are willing to give more in-depth information and interested in partnering with and accessing the project in the future, there is the option to give contact details at the end.

In order to keep our consultation process on track, we need responses by Tuesday 31st October 2023. We’d greatly appreciate it if you feel able to take the time to respond. Thank you.
