Work Routes – helping refugees into sustainable employment – from Reed in Partnership

The Work and Health Programme – Work Routes, is a programme commissioned and funded by the Department of Work and Pensions.

We are here to support individuals into sustainable employment. We work with vulnerable adults who have different barriers.

Examples of these are health conditions, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, care leavers, refugees, offenders ,ex -armed forces and many more. These do not have to be diagnosed by a doctor, they can be self diagnosed.

Our programme is up to 65 weeks long and aims to support people back into sustainable employment within the 65 weeks upon referral.

Our Employment Advisers guide participants on a comprehensive journey encompassing Health and Wellbeing Support, Employability Skills development, financial support and vacancy sourcing. We re imburse for all appointments and support financially with interview clothing, accredited courses and financial support getting into work before someone’s first pay check. The support however does not stop when a participant gets into work. We have an employment support officer, who ensures in work adjustments have been discussed and the participant is comfortable with the employer.

We have offices based in Leeds Central and Leeds South (Beeston). We also offer remote appointments for participants that initially feel uncomfortable coming into the office.

In order to be eligible for our programme, the referral must be over the age of 18 and meet either section 18, 19 or both of our referral form. Part 1 of the form, would be the referrers details (yourselves). All sections of the form must be completed and the signature can be added as ‘remote’ in the box.
