This event brings together communities and organisations to explore the findings from the HOME? project
The project trained migrants and activists in citizen journalism – documenting the lives of migrants living across the North of England – using personal experiences and press archives to guide them.
This event weaves together these intensely personal stories, and the stories of others to reflect life in Leeds as it has been, how it is, and explores what this means for the future, if Northern England is to become better at welcoming people and offering a safe haven.
The event aims to open-up a dialogue between different local people and relevant organisations about the heritage of migration in their area, how that relates to their current thinking and perceptions and what can be done to better understand, learn from and preserve this type of heritage in the future.
