Opportunities for Visits to National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Dear Leeds Migration Partnership

I want to alert you all to a Funding Programme that may not be well known: The Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme.  This is a funding programme dedicated to National Parks and AONB’s (areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty). They all have a special pot of money available for a wide range of projects.

One of the aims of the competitive programme is to get ‘diverse audiences’ out into these landscapes. These visits might include a tour of a farm or taking part in conservation activities.  To develop one of these projects, the first move would be get in touch with the FiPL officer at the National Park or AONB concerned.

This could be the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, The North York Moors or Nidderdale AONB, to name but a few. The FiPL officer can help you link up with landowners and activity providers to develop a project that is likely be successful.

I am the FiPL project officer at Nidderdale AONB, and you can contact me at [email protected] to find out more about visits in my area.

I can also help you get in touch with my FiPL colleagues in other ‘Protected Landscapes’.

I look forward to you getting in touch!
