A group of people are building a refugee camp in Horsforth, and running a series of events 10-13th October to create opportunities for people from all walks of life to meet and share experiences and to learn what it might be like to be an asylum seeker or refugee.
They would love it if your org would like to help promote these events and to see you take part. Some people will be sharing their stories for the first time and would appreciate some moral support.
The Friday night event will be a chance to sample Syrian food, hear some great music and look together at how to respond to the Refugee Crisis.
There will be awareness raising session on asylum issues for schools, various discussion sessions as well as two moving art exhibitions to view, one depicting the stories of 7 Syrian refugees and the other focusing on life in Leeds for asylum seekers and refugees.
