Opening Event
Friday 6 October 2017 | 6:30pm to 8:30pm | RJC Dance, Mandela Centre, Chapeltown Road, LS7 3HY
Leeds’ BME Hub is marking and celebrating Black History Month 2017 with a focus on education – inspired and stimulated by the book “The Mis – Education of the Negro” published in 1933 by Carter G Woodson, the founder and father of Black History Month.
The BME Hub will launch Black History Month on: Friday 6 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30 – 8.30pm
Tea, Coffee & biscuits will be served from 6pm
A second event will take place on Friday 27 October 2017 at RJC Dance, 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
Light refreshments will be served from 5.30pm
Using presentations, testimonies and performance we will examine:
- What are our social and cultural educational problems?
- What are the social and cultural aims of education?
- What should they be?
