Refugees Guides Project

‘Tales of a City Tours is a new and exciting project, which aims to promote cross-cultural understanding and community cohesion through the development of cultural walking tours around Leeds, led by refugee guides. Each refugee guide would have the chance to tell stories about their home country, their culture, and their experiences in Leeds, to people on the tours. Through this, we also hope to raise awareness of the challenges refugees in the UK face.

This summer we hope to work with members of a refugee background who would like to help us develop the tours.

As part of the research, you would be required to take part in at least one interview and one focus group during July 2017. Through your involvement in the project, there is a possibility to later apply for a ‘Refugee Guide’ role, if the tours are successfully launched in 2018.

To take part in the research, you should:

1) Have refugee status
2) Speak a good level of English
3) Be over 18 years of age

Please contact [email protected] before 3rd July 2017 to be involved. We can then meet for a tea/coffee to explain the project in more detail. Thanks for your support
