We’ve opened up a new programme called Explore for organisations who would like to work on a design/ digital issue alongside Refugee Action and SIDE Labs (design agency). We’re looking at two areas this time around – improving websites and service adaptability. It’s a funded opportunity (£3,000) and will run from January to March 2021. We would especially welcome applications for projects which involve engagement with Experts by Experience throughout the project. Scroll down the Explore page and click on the link to access the application form (it’s a pretty quick form to fill in but we will use it to sift applications as we can only work with up to 12 organisations). We’ll close the application opportunity next Friday 20th November so that we have time to set up the projects and the organisations selected have time to create capacity to get involved.
Potential ideas you could apply to look at for example… you might want to think about putting in an application which would enable you to think about how to include trialling SMS feedback or how to adapt services for both online and face to face purposes. Contact me with any questions.
We have a new Events page on the website which will advertise upcoming events hosted by Refugee Action or other relevant events across the sector. We have upcoming events on Improving your charity’s website, and Meeting mental health needs. If you would like to get notifications for all of our events you can join our Meet Up group.
Using feedback from the GPP review we decided to pilot some Slack channels for the sector. Currently we are trialling Experts by Experience, Tools and Tech and Website Improvements. Come and join us by emailing [email protected] letting Lizzie know that you’d like to join Slack. We’ll be running a Slack show and tell on 25th November at 12 for those who would like some support setting it up and using it for the first time. You can sign up for this on Meet Up.
