Our costs virtually doubled this week, when Mailchimp told us they’d stop the weekly LMP newsletter unless we paid them £28 a month.
Obviously we’re looking for free/cheaper alternatives, but currently don’t have a viable alternative.

The LMP Blog digest reaches about 700 people a week and costs about £700 a year to run* which works out about £1 a year, per reader.
The content is created by volunteers, who post about 250 articles a year.

- A fiver a month would pay the total costs of all the Leeds City Council staff who currently subscribe to the mailings.
- £500 would buy you or your organisation a banner on our website, and on each of our mailshots, thanking you and saying how brilliant you are. We would particularly welcome sponsorship from the Home Office or Cabinet Office.

- £340 Mailchimp – which produces the mailshots. 500+ subscribers means we now have to pay £28 a month
- £350 Web hosting and security costs: which protects us from the 1500 complex/brute force attacks a month.
LASSN currently pay these bills, but get no income for this work.
