Interested in working face-to-face with refugees and asylum seekers?
Leeds Asylum Seekers Support Network are looking for
- volunteers to help deliver our new Welcome and Connect project – which welcomes and connects asylum seekers and refugees to life in Leeds (click here for the role description)
- English tutors to teach one-to-one sessions (click here for the role description) and
- Hosts to accommodate asylum seekers in their homes for a minimum of 3 months (click here for the role description)
In exchange for your time and enthusiasm, we offer
- Comprehensive induction training and ongoing training/skills development
- Opportunity to work and learn alongside people from a wide variety of cultures
- Individual support, and a chance to meet and learn from other volunteers
- Volunteer socials (and regular trips to cultural events)
- Out-of-pocket expenses (mileage if you need to use a car)
- An opportunity to actively show solidarity with refugees (and your opposition to the Hostile Environment)
