The Bike Project is a charity that collects second hand bikes, refurbishes them and donates them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK.
We are looking for volunteers in Leeds for our Bike Buddy programme. This is a cycling befriending scheme that we offer to our bike recipients. This is for local cyclists who wish to support our bike recipients with their cycling. It aims to build confidence and knowledge of cycling, reduce isolation, improve well-being and encourage social integration and greater independence. It’s relatively low time commitment but garners huge rewards for those taking part. We ask volunteers to aim to complete 3 rides with their buddy.
