Windrush Compensation Scheme and Lessons Learned Review – Mon 8th October at 16:30 – 19:30

from Samantha Powell at LCC

“The Home Office is working alongside independent advisors Wendy Williams, leading on a Lessons Learned Review; and Martin Forde QC, working to put in place a Compensation Scheme for people impacted from the ‘Windrush generation’ / long-term Commonwealth citizens who are settled in the UK.

Wendy and Martin are both keen to hear directly from people who have been affected to enable Government’s understanding of how to do things better in future, and to inform the design of the Compensation Scheme.

‘A Compensation Scheme and Lessons Learned Review’ event will take place in Leeds on Monday 8th October at The Reginald Centre from 16:30 – 19:00.

In addition, there will be a Home Office Windrush Taskforce community surgery available (separate to the independent event) to offer Commonwealth citizens who are concerned about their status, the opportunity to talk in confidence and request support to resolve their case.

We would be grateful to you for sharing this information amongst your networks.”
