VOLUNTEERS: Re-vive: Looking for volunteers who want to gain employability skills!

Re-vive is a social enterprise which has been set up with the aim of minimising the ongoing issue of food waste in society. We collaborate with the Real Junk food Project to sell perfectly good food that has been discarded by supermarkets due to being past its sell by date on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis. This food would otherwise have been sent straight to landfill as waste!

Every Tuesday, we volunteer to run a fruit and veg stall in the University Union and engage with a range of people, spreading our social mission and making a real difference. We are hoping to expand our impact on society by encouraging refugees to join us in making this change by helping to run the stall and spread awareness. This will provide the opportunity to integrate into society and meet new people.

This hands on experience would allow the development of the following skills:

  • English Language
  • Communication
  • Teamwork
  • Employability Skills

If you are interested in volunteering to help us run our fruit and veg stall on Tuesday’s, please get back to us with your interest by Friday 28th February 2019.
