Volunteer Manager’s Network Meeting

A reminder that our next Volunteer Managers Network Meeting is:
Tuesday 6 February, 10 am – 12 pm (1 pm) at Stringer House, Voluntary Action Leeds.

Following the Network Steering Group meeting, 16 January, it was agreed that at the end of future network meeting (12-1.00 pm) there will be an opportunity for members to stay and talk to other Volunteer Managers.

Members of the Steering Group will be staying for lunch and will be available to offer advice to other network members. There will be drinks available but no lunch so members are asked to bring their own lunch.

• Discussion around Leeds Volunteer Mangers’ Network Priorities for 2018
• Various updates including Leeds Volunteer Centre Outreach Pilot, NEW ESV opportunities & update on training for Volunteer Managers.
• Expression of Interest – Social Action
• Leeds City College has received funding, from Sport England and the #iwill fund, working in collaboration with Voluntary Action Leeds and Yorkshire Sport Foundation, to help young people make a positive difference in their community through socialaction. The project is a fantastic opportunity to create sport-related social action projects that benefit the local community and to increase voluntary opportunities for young people under the age of 20.

12 – 12.10 pm Break

11.10 – 12.00 pm: Workshop and discussion around developing a Volunteer Handbook Template
The network will split into 2 groups and a Steering Group member will facilitate a discussion around the ways that the network can work together to develop a Volunteers Handbook template that all members can use. At the workshop we will have some examples of Volunteer Handbooks and we want to discuss with members what they think are some of the “core elements” they would like to see in a handbook. We aim to complete this template by June 2018.

The venue for the meeting will be the central area at Stringer House at VAL.
