Seeking Collaborative Partners and Participants for PhD Research on Bereavement Support for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in the UK

I am conducting a PhD project to explore the bereavement experiences of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

This study aims to improve culturally sensitive bereavement support services for these communities. We will gather data through focus groups and interviews with participants receiving support from various charities and organisations. We seek your assistance in recruiting participants through your networks of clients, staff and volunteers.

Participation involves sharing lived experiences of grief, loss, trauma, and support services confidentially. The focus groups and interviews will begin in late 2024. The project, funded by the ESRC and King’s College London, will seek grants for compensation and travel costs.

Given the sensitivity of the topic, particularly regarding bereavement and displacement, we will implement measures to mitigate potential risks.

Interested organisations willing to assist in recruitment are encouraged to reach out. Your collaboration will help enhance grief literacy and empower affected individuals. For more details and to express interest, please contact [email protected].
