Legal Aid Contracts: Ask Us Anything Event – Wednesday 19th July 2023, 9.30 – 11:00am

[Jon from LASSN writes:] As you know, there is an enormous lack of Legal Aid in Leeds, Yorkshire and the whole country. Things are so bad, the Home Office are considering paying more money in legal aid fees to attract Solicitors to help meet the needs of people held in the new detention camps. Meanwhile there are still large (undisclosed) numbers of asylum seekers in Leeds being sent letters asking them to complete forms for the Streamlined Asylum Process, unable to find qualified advice. At present, they (and their supporters) mostly rely on the self-help information we’ve gathered here. Which is why I have posted this opportunity from Refugee Action
