Job: Sessional Chittagonian, Burmese, Indonesian & Rohingya Interpreters required at Refugee Council.

Refugee Council are looking to recruit sessional interpreters who can speak at least one of least languages: Chittagonian, Burmese, Indonesian or Rohingya.

The nature of the work:

Facilitating communication between clients, advisors and agencies by providing consistent, effective and high quality interpreting services in an environment that is at times highly pressurised.

Providing off-site interpreting services between Refugee Council clients and other agencies as required.

Remaining aware of the purpose and context in which interpreting services are provided and respecting and working within appropriate boundaries as defined by the organisation.

Assisting in the production and dissemination of appropriate information by proof reading translated documents.

Hours will vary. We’re looking for people with high level of English as well as Chittagonian, Burmese, Indonesian or Rohingya to work with newly arrived families.

Successful candidates will need to have a satisfactory basic DBS check unless they are signed up to the Update Service

PAY RATES:
Face to Face Interpreting Work:
1st hr: £20.00
After 1st hr each 15 min: £4.50
Travel Time each 15 min: £2.50

Telephone Interpreting Work:
1st 10 min or part: £5.00
After 1st 10min: £0.25 per minute
