Grant Funding to Support People Seeking Asylum in Leeds 2023 – 2025 – Deadline October 16th 2023

Leeds is proud to be a diverse city with a long history of welcome to those seeking sanctuary in our city.  As a welcoming and compassionate city, Leeds City Council has a well-established structure to deliver the Strategic, Inclusive and Coordinated Approach to Migration, developed in partnership with organisations and volunteers across the city. Leeds City Council is committed to taking positive steps to build on our collective approach and strengthen our partnerships.

Ongoing national policy changes have put significant pressures on both statutory and third sector organisations to respond to the changing nature of the asylum agenda, and to provide the support required to meet local need. In responding to these challenges, Leeds City Council is pleased to announce a grant funding programme for third sector organisations in Leeds. Our aim is to strengthen appropriate, efficient & effective support for people living in Leeds who are seeking asylum, and for those who have been granted asylum status (newly granted refugees) within the 28 day move on period.

The total amount of funding available is £600,000 and organisations can apply for a minimum of £5,000 to a maximum of £50,000 under this grant programme. This funding provides opportunities for new and innovative activity, as well as funding for the continuation of existing programmes and activities. Full details and criteria are included in the grant guidance.

Organisations have the opportunity to ask questions up until Monday 9th October 2023 by contacting the [email protected]. The closing date of application submission is Monday 16th October 2023 by 12:00pm (noon).
