from Georgia at Republica Internationale
I am currently running some women only football sessions on the first Saturday of every month and am keen to engage women from diverse backgrounds in these sessions who typically would struggle to access football. We received some funding from the FA and so my football club Republica Internationale FC are running these in conjunction with Yorkshire St Pauli who run regular football for all sessions which you may have signposted clients to previously.
We have a bonus FREE session coming up this weekend on Saturday 19th 1-3pm which we got additional funding for from FARE network so we are doing a longer session with food at the end. This forms part of the Football People’s Action Weeks between 10th and 24th October which you may have seen represented on TV over the international break – more info here: https://farenet.org/campaigns/footballpeople-action-weeks/.
As we have more funding for this individual session, we can offer support towards bus fares or other travel expenses for those in need. The FAQs should answer any questions or concerns about travel.
