Whatever happened to TransitionGuide.org.uk? Try BritainExplained.com instead

Spotted by Karen at PAFRAS

It’s been 18 months since the Transition Guide was updated, although we understand LCC has plans for will replace/update it.

However, for the time being, you might think of the new http://britainexplained.com website as a kind of TransitionGuide to Britain, without the focus on what to do when you first get your refugee status.

in its own words, Britain Explained is designed to help you:

  • set up your home
  • get involved in your local community
  • become aware of rules and systems
  • find events and places to explore
  • understand Britain better

So there you go. A wider focus on migrant issues, and the assumption you are free to move/get access to public services but a worthwhile resource

(We’ve already written to suggest embedding Google Translate into the site, but it’s early days yet.)
