Volunteering Opportunities at Bardon Grange, Community Food Growing Project

“If you haven’t already, do come along to our gardening volunteer sessions. You are welcome to come for a short time or the whole session, no experience or booking needed, just turn up. There’s always some produce for volunteers to take home and lots of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and get stuck in to growing tasty organic vegetables. It’s a great way to chill out, do something new and meet new friends. If you are already a keen grower but struggling to find space, there’s opportunities to take on an area of the garden.”

The Project is really keen to promote the Monday and Wednesday volunteering sessions to more people outside the University

Monday & Wednesday volunteering sessions

  • Every Monday 12-2pm The Roof Garden, Level 2 LUU
  • Every Wednesday 2-6pm Sustainable Garden next to Roger Stevens

They are also happy to organise a group tour if this might be something that your project would be interested in (eg. For a men’s/women’s group etc). and they have lots of free workshops & film nights coming up too – there’s free apple juicing is happening on Thursday 20th Nov

There’s also a free RHS gardening course for anyone aged 16-24 starting Wednesday 2nd Nov 2-4pm for 5 weeks

Unfortunately we are not able to help with transport costs.
