The post will be responsible for providing a high quality social care service including development and delivery of one to one and group support including complex case work. The Social Care Support Worker will ensure meaningful consultation with service users and other stakeholders, and will be able to meet the targets set out in the service level agreement.
Part of the role will include management and facilitation of a female only support group.
UK law contains the ‘Equality Act’ of 2007 which says that if you are offering a job to the general public, then all must be equal. This includes men and women being equal.
However, there is an ‘occupational requirement’ exemption meaning you can discriminate against one gender if that specific job requires it.
Roles which include working in a women-only environment, such as in a women-only group, can appoint only women to work supporting the female participants.
This role does include supporting male clients as well, but the group work is female only.
