Third Sector Leeds: follow up from Universal Credit/GDPR workshop

On Monday 15 January, TSL held a workshop to start discussing topics of particular importance in 2018: The Rollout out of Universal Credit and the Implications of Implications of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for groups in Leeds. 

Over 40 people attended to listen to very informative presentations from Citizens Advice Chapeltown, Leeds City Council and Wrigleys Solicitors

1. Third Sector Universal Credit Presentation
The potential Impact of the changes and what other cities have experienced delivered by Citizens Advice Chapeltown.

2. Leeds City Council Universal Credit Presentation
What Leeds City Council is doing in preparation for the rollout delivered by the Financial Inclusion team.

3. GDPR Presentation  
Overview of the key areas of change introduced by the regulation delivered by Wrigleys Solicitors.

4. Jargon Busting Factsheet Universal Credit

5. Ideas, tips and resources
These tips are based on interviews with staff and volunteers about their experiences delivering Universal Credit advice and support.

6. Preparing for the GDPR – 12 steps to take now
This ICO checklist highlights 12 steps you can take now to prepare for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will apply from 25 May 2018.
