Student Action for Refugees are running a series of three creative arts workshops on Wednesday evenings in March/April, at Leeds Beckett University, led by an artist and a local writer from a refugee background. The workshops will be followed with the opportunity to exhibit work and share stories, though this is optional and not a requirement of taking part. There will be food and tea/coffee provided. Each session will have a different theme, as follows:
Wednesday 23rd March: 5-7pm (Creative writing/storytelling)
Wednesday 30th March: 5-7pm (Painting/portrait drawing)
Wednesday 6th April: 5-7pm (Preparing final work)
The workshops are open to all, there is no need for any previous experience nor a high level of written or spoken English. There will be the opportunity to exhibit work following the sessions but this is optional and not a requirement to taking part. Any travel costs will be provided.
