Services: Driving Theory lessons, Armley Women’s Walking Group, Finnish Fair – brought to you by Touchstone

  • English for driving theory: a free weekly session to help people develop their English skills in preparation for taking their driving theory test. This is up and running as of today and is every Wednesday, 10am-12.30pm at New Wortley Community Centre. The session is volunteer-led, but the MAP+ team facilitating session is a lady called Zainab Abdelkader who can also speak Arabic. People do not need to book a place, they can just turn up, however you can contact Zainab if you have any questions on [email protected]

  • A walking group for women in Armley. Starting Monday 25 Feb and running initially for 10 weeks. Meet at Armley One Stop Centre at 10am. Again, no booking is necessary. The group is being run by some of our Migrant Community Networkers, led by a lady called Shabana who can also speak Urdu and Punjabi.

  • A Finnish Fair, hosted by the Finnish Saturday School in Leeds on 2nd March 2019. This is a one-off event at Woodhouse Community Centre on 2 March. It is a chance to learn about Finnish culture & history, learn about what the Saturday school does, sample Finnish cuisine and there will be lots of activities for children like crafts and games.
