Excerpt from Manuel Bravo about changes to their delivery – but they are still taking referrals
Our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of our clients, volunteers and staff. To protect them, we will temporarily cease all face to face appointments, activities and outreach sessions. This means volunteers and staff will not meet face to face with clients or each other to carry out their work until we deem it safe to do so and according to NHS/Government guidelines.
The Courts and Tribunals Service and the Home Office are currently operating as usual so we will still be taking referrals for new cases, especially appeals. Our Casework team will be working on cases remotely and will contact their existing clients individually as normal. Please bear with our team as they adjust to remote working and be aware that referrals and general correspondence may take a little longer than usual.
We will not be attending any of our regular legal advice outreach sessions. Any clients who have ongoing work via an outreach session should contact us on 0113 350 8608 between 9am and 1pm Monday-Friday to discuss. We are in the process of setting up a telephone outreach service and will advertise how this will work as soon as the details are finalised with our outreach partners. In the meantime, anyone with a very urgent enquiry can call 0113 350 8608 and we will try our best to help (please note that the person answering the calls cannot provide legal advice, you will be asked to leave a message and will be called back if we can assist).
If you would like to refer a FC, Appeal or SET(P) to us, please use the following procedure.
- Appeals: using our appeals referral form, please send all documents and the completed referral form to our office email address ([email protected]) as usual.
- Fresh Claims: Please send the interview records, any refusal letters, court determinations and new evidence to our office email address. Please make sure you provide client name, DOB, nationality, preferred language, address, contact number and contact email.
- SET(P)s: Please send copies of BRP’s, travel docs, birth certificates (if they have children), marriage certificate (if applicable), driving license and details of why the applicant was granted asylum to our office email address. Please make sure you provide client name, DOB, nationality, preferred language, address, contact number and contact email.
