Resource of the week #94: New indices of multiple deprivation released + Migration Observatory’s new Local Data Guide

The new indices of multiple deprivation were released on 26th September.

These are often called the “£1 billion dataset” due to the decisions that are made using them. You can access this data via the handy tool below:

http://dclgapps.communities.gov.uk/imd/iod_index.html

You can search by income deprivation, employment deprivation, education deprivation, health, crime, barriers to housing and services and deprivation to children- all down to council ward (or postcode) level.

There’s also this dashboard which is data at local authority level: https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiOTdjYzIyNTMtMTcxNi00YmQ2LWI1YzgtMTUyYzMxOWQ3NzQ2IiwidCI6ImJmMzQ2ODEwLTljN2QtNDNkZS1hODcyLTI0YTJlZjM5OTVhOCJ9

This resource could be particularly useful in conjuction with the Migration Observatory’s new Local Data Guide, published on 30th September, which brings together the different sources of official data related to migration from the ONS, government departments and the devolved administrations:
