Refugees into work: Bradford

Refugee Action are starting a new project this month to support those with Refugee status with the UK job market and with getting either paid work or a volunteering position.

The project will have an 8 week course, run for 2.5 hours on Friday morning, which will help refugees navigate the job market, decode job adverts, understand how to write CVs and application forms and prepare them for interview, while concentrating on the English language they need. It will also cover health and safety, work culture and workers’ rights.

Alongside this, those learners in the most need, will be matched with mentors who will support them further with their job search and their English.

The course will boost confidence and ability to deal with a complicated system and help refugees make more of those social connections which are so important!

There is a short referral form, or clients can self-refer using the details on the flyers.

If anyone wants further information on the course or to talk about it in anyway, do not hesitate to contact Ruth Gray | Drop-in Volunteer Coordinator & Working English Coordinator
