Refugee Council is hosting an evening event on Community Sponsorship on the 9th April 6:30-8:30 in the Leeds office. This is part of the Reset Community Sponsorship training programme where Refugee Council is delivery partner.
Community Sponsorship gives community groups the opportunity to enable refugee families to be settled in the UK. The Refugee Council, along with Mercy Mission, is supporting groups in Yorkshire and Humber who would like to get involved in this exciting new way of giving refugee families safe, stable new lives in the region.
The event aims to inform interested groups about the community sponsorship programme and the support on offer to assist groups with the application process. You will hear from the experience of community sponsors already supporting Syrian refugees in the UK, the Home Office and other experienced resettlement providers such as the Refugee Council.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in community sponsorship is welcome. Groups based in Yorkshire and Humberside with charitable status, a faith focus or registered as a community interest company would be particularly welcome.
