Nominations invited for the Yorkshire Asian Young Achievers Awards

The Yorkshire Asian Young Achievers Awards, known as “The YAYAs” for short, aim to make a difference in raising the aspirations for some of the county’s most disadvantaged communities.

The YAYA awards (www.theyayas.org.uk), a Yorkshire-wide awards scheme, in partnership with York St. John’s University has been launched!

The YAYA awards are supported by local, regional and national organisations including Leeds City Council, the West Yorkshire Police Crime Commissioner, West Yorkshire Police, Cedar Court Hotel, Exa networks, Sovereign Health Care, One Stop, Banner Group and Bite Burger and sponsored by the Royal Air Force, NatWest, The National Science & Media Museum, Barnardo’s, Trinity College London, KCB, Squire Patton Boggs, Bradford Council, University of Bradford, University of York, LOCALiQ and My Lahore.

Please nominate any young person of South Asian origin who has overcome deprivation, disadvantage or traditional barriers to progress. Full details of categories and the nomination/entry form are on the website: www.theyayas.org.uk (Nominations close on February 3rd)

 The YAYA awards (are open to any young person aged 16-30 of South Asian heritage (Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi etc.) who are:

 ·         living and working in Yorkshire OR

·         living and working  anywhere in the country but were born in Yorkshire

 They will be presented at a glittering ceremony in Bradford on April 2nd 2020.
