The new Home Office Guide to Living in Asylum Accommodation (ie the places provided by Mears, previously by G4S) is now online here.
It will be issued to people seeking asylum once they have transitioned under the new Asylum Accommodation & Support Services (AASC) contract, and will also be part of the new induction pack which will be issued to everyone arriving in dispersal accommodation under the new AASC contract.
It contains a range of useful information for service users, including what the service user can expect from providers, how to record issue reporting and complaints under the new Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility (AIRE) contract, items to expect in asylum accommodation, and timeframes for issues to be resolved. It is available in 11 languages.
