We think everyone has something to contribute to the evening which will make it even  better, so

• If you want to bring your friends family and children – you can
• If you want to help us choose the best dance music from around the world, for the Youtube disco – you can (by clicking here http://bit.ly/mwob18 )
• If you want to sing, dance or play an instrument – you can
• If you want to bring some food to share with others – you can
• If you want to help on the doors, or with the lighting or the sound – you can
• If you just want to come along, keep your head down and have a brilliant night – you can
• If you can’t come, but want to make sure other people here your favourite dance tunes – you can

During the course of the evening there are also six 30-40 minute slots for music and dancing from particular communities (eg Kurdish, Sudanese etc etc) which Ali at LRF has agreed to coordinate.

So, in preparation for the evening, we’d like to ask for your help with several things

1. Spreading the word about the party. Please let people know about the event, using Facebook, Twitter and Word of Mouth
2. If you think people are going to struggle to afford to get to the event – make sure they text 07845298047*
3. Encouraging people to contribute to the YouTube Disco playlist. If no one makes suggestions it’ll end up being my choices, and I have dreadful taste.  Please don’t let this happen
4. If you know any refugees or asylum seekers who are musicians or dancers who would like to help provide the music and dancing on the night – please get them to contact  Ali at Leeds Refugee Forum  [email protected] or 0113 244 9600 / 07733 171 290 by Friday April 27^th
5. If you know anyone who’d be willing to offer a couple of hours to help staff the event  – please let them know about the Planning evening at 6-7pm on Wednesday 9^th May and get them to contact LASSN  [email protected] (the roles will be things like being on the door, making sure the food provided gets to the right place, helping with the sound/lights etc)

Thanks for your help and support in making this am amazing free night out, where cultures and communities can meet and mix and have a damn good time.
