From time to time, LMP gets hold of information that is potentially useful to share but which cannot appear in the public domain—usually for safety reasons or because someone else (e.g., the Home Office) has asked for it to be shared “confidentially.”
This information mainly comes from the Local Authority or Migration Yorkshire via the LMP reps who attend the Sub Regional Migration Group.
So, we’ve created a password-protected area of the LMP Blog where these have been posted.
Currently, the documents stored there are
- Home Office, “Interim update on BRPs and the ‘move on’ process for asylum seekers who have received a positive decision on their asylum claim” – 8th November 24
- Transition to eVisas, Local Authority FAQ pack – 21st October 24
- UK Overview of Place-Based Visibility Tool – 21st October 24
- A list of activities happening at the hotels – 31st October 24
If you want access to these documents, please email [email protected] and copy [email protected] in to your request.
If your reason for wanting sight of these documents
- seems vague, or
- you’re using an email that doesn’t look official or
- you don’t attend LMP meetings or
- we’re not sure who you are,
please don’t be surprised or offended if we ask you for a bit more information, or if we ask you for a reference from someone we already know (the Leeds Migration Partnership isn’t that big, so if you’re legit we probably already have some friends in common.) And then, once we’ve sussed you out, we’ll probably send you a link and a password.
No one likes unnecessary secrecy – and regular readers will know our commitment to transparency/getting things out into the public domain – but after the hateful racist and Islamophobic attacks over the summer, we’re trying to take reasonable measures.
Thank you for understanding why we’re doing this.
Jon, on behalf of LMP
