Leeds Shielding Diversity Group: New spoken material in community languages (inc. BSL) available to support people who are shielding

Working with community interpreters, Leeds City Council’s Health Partnerships Team is making sure that people who are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (people who are ‘shielding’) are able to stay happy and healthy at home, making the decisions about their own health and wellbeing that ‘are right for me’, because they have received relevant and tailored messaging and information.

Each week, the Shielding Diversity Group interpreters and volunteers (several of whom with experience of shielding) shape key messages to support people who are shielding. They then interpret the messages into community languages such as Arabic, French and BSL, producing video clips and audio files to go with slides. So far, we have the following material available with more topics and languages to come:
