Leeds Re:connect – Building a collective response to austerity 14th October 2017

Leeds Tidal and the Economic Justice Project would like to invite you to a day of free and participatory workshops to share experiences and strategies, and build a more connected Leeds in which we support each others struggles for justice.

Although the government and media try to divide us by blaming marginalised people for problems in society, we know that we’ve got more in common than they want us to believe. Years of austerity have meant that more people face hardship and compete for shrinking resources. But it has also meant that people are working together to build strength and solidarity to fight cuts to services, challenge racism and struggle for better working conditions.

Leeds Re:Connect is your opportunity to:

  • understand how government policies are impacting social services and jobs, and creating a hostile environment for communities of colour;
  • work with others to fight injustice and develop strategies that can make a real difference in our communities;
  • get practical skills that will help us be heard and achieve change.
