Applications for the Sanctuary Scholarship 2025 at King’s College London are now open. This scholarship provides financial and academic support to eligible students from forced migration backgrounds who wish to pursue Postgraduate Taught (PGT) courses in the 2025/26 academic year.
Award Details
- Full tuition fee waiver for the programme’s duration.
- A £20,000 annual living cost allowance.
- Additional support for visa-related expenses, including the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) and funding for a return trip to the UK.
A total of eight scholarships are available: four for UK-based students and four for students currently displaced overseas including one dedicated to the memory of Dr. Maisara Alrayyes, specifically supporting Palestinian students.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be an asylum seeker, have limited leave to remain in the UK, or be displaced by recent conflicts and currently outside the UK.
- Have applied to a PGT course at King’s College London for 2025 entry.
- Be unable to access Tuition Fee or Maintenance Loans from Student Finance.
- Not hold a postgraduate degree from the UK or abroad.
- Ensure your chosen course does not require work eligibility if your immigration status prohibits employment.

Eligible Courses
Only on-campus Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes at King’s College London for the 2025/26 academic year qualify. Online programmes and those requiring mandatory work placements (if prohibited by immigration status) are not eligible.

Key Dates:
- Applications open: Monday, 6 January 2025, at 12:01 AM.
- Applications close: Sunday, 30 March 2025, at 11:59 PM.
You will need to provide documents such as proof of immigration status, evidence of displacement, and other supporting materials.
