Its role includes supporting other organisations to develop their own advocacy capacity and to enable people they support to advocate for themselves.
We wish to recruit an outstanding individual to lead the development of our highly regarded advocacy services. You will have substantial experience of the management and leadership of staff, excellent communication skills and a belief in the power of advocacy to empower individuals and communities facing disadvantage.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the expansion and development of Advonet, to support the development of wider advocacy provision within Leeds, as well as leading Advonet’s communications and business strategies. You will have substantial experience of partnership working and organisational development, a passion for co-production and the strategic ability to support a dynamic charity to expand its provision to people across Leeds, including to minority communities.

Job title: Finance Director
Hours: 18.5 per week
Salary: £39,500 per annum
Advonet is Leeds’ largest provider of independent advocacy. It exists to ensure that people facing disadvantage are able to communicate what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain the services they need. We are looking for a qualified accountant to:
● Work with the Board, the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to deliver the Strategic Business Plan and capitalise on the organisation’s recent record of achievement
● Oversee Advonet’s financial management and accounting
● Ensure legal compliance and efficacy of the charity’s governance arrangements
● Take overall responsibility for Information Governance
Lead the development of the organisation’s finance, IT and HR functions and strategy
● Oversee and supervise the Finance and HR Team, including liaison with our external HR consultant
● Contribute to the development of an entrepreneurial culture which will enable Advonet to achieve its ambitious growth plans
The role is based at our offices on Roundhay Road on the outskirts of the City Centre.
