The Solace Child and Family Wellbeing Support service is recruiting Family and Children’s Therapists to support refugees in Yorkshire
The Child and Family Wellbeing Support service (CFWS) is an innovative programme working therapeutically with families who have come to live in Yorkshire through the UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS) since 2018. Solace delivers the service in West and North Yorkshire, Hull, East Riding, North and North East Lincs in partnership with Refugee Council who operate in South Yorkshire and Migration Yorkshire who oversee the project.
We are looking for a child and young person’s therapist or a family therapist / practitioner to join our existing team of 7 for 3 or 4 days per week. While the role is initially temporary until March 2025, funding is likely to continue beyond this but is not yet confirmed.
Specifically, we are looking for a therapist to deliver the service in Bradford and Kirklees, but as this is a regional project, therapists are likely to see families in other areas as well. The therapeutic work includes conducting holistic child and family psycho-social assessments, providing creative therapy to children and young people as well as individual or family therapy. It also includes multi-professional working, training and consultations to schools and colleges to support refugee children and young people, parental support and possible group work. The work is delivered as a combination of remote therapy, or in various localities including Solace premises, schools, client’s homes or community venues.
Successful applicants will be joining a team of experienced therapists in a specialist therapeutic organisation working exclusively with asylum seekers and refugees.
