#integrationmatters: new fund from HM Gov to build integrated communities in England

via Duncan at Refugee Council

“The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), in partnership with Sport England, has launched the new Integrated Communities Innovation Fund.

The Fund will help drive forward proposals to tackle the key causes of poor integration set out in the Government’s Integrated Communities Strategy Green Paper published in March 2018, by offering support to projects who can demonstrate innovative approaches to tackle the barriers to integration and building integrated communities in England.

The new Fund will build our understanding about what works to support integration in different community contexts. This is why we are committed to ensuring that projects supported through the Fund are evaluated in a consistent way, with the help of an independent evaluator chosen by MHCLG, so that we can robustly and transparently measure the positive integration outcomes they achieve – and share this learning more widely.

The Integrated Communities Innovation Fund is open to applications from a wide range of organisations. Application for funding is a two-stage process. The first stage asks for short expressions of interest from applicants by 23:45 Monday 20th August. Following this, successful applicants will be asked to submit a full application at stage two.
