Home Office Welcome Guide for new refugees – but not quite the final versions…

The Home Office has published a welcome guide for new refugees. The guide has been adapted from the one that is provided to refugees arriving through the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme.

It contains useful information about how to make contact with the services that can help refugees once they have been granted refugee or Humanitarian Protection status, as well as wider information about life in the UK and how to make the most of opportunities on offer.

This information is intended as a helpful starting point, which would complement more detailed information available from local service providers. The guide has been translated into 11 different language and you can find all of them here.

For any further information, please contact [email protected]

Additional note from Jon at LASSN:

Please note – there are quite a lot of broken links in all of the guides – especially around health, and some other info that isn’t quite right.  These have been reported by LMP to Home Office already, who have responded

“We are aware the links are not working – the company we outsourced the design to made an error and did not produce ‘web-friendly’ versions. This have been flagged and we are hoping to upload new versions next week.”

Given the volume of errors across all of the guides, we recommend holding back on circulating these until the amends have been made. There’s some great content in here btw – so worth waiting for the corrected versions to be uploaded

[…] We’ve previously mentioned the Home Office Welcome Guides, and told you that although they were an excellent idea, they were full of dodgy/broken weblinks. […]
