Home Office Funding: English language training to refugees

via Sam at LCC Communities team

The Home Office is about to award a contract worth £75k to an organisation, or a partnership of organisations to develop a shared vision for commissioning and delivering English language training to refugees.

The delivery partner is being asked to run a series of regional events that bring together the English language sector and the refugee sector to share good practice.  The outcome of the events will then be summarised and disseminated via an ESOL for refugees toolkit which we are aiming to publish next year.

The overall objective is to ensure there is better English language support for refugees and we aim to do this by ensuring more holistic awareness of their needs and by facilitating better local join up of stakeholders.  The invitation to tender launched on the GOV.UK contracts finder portal this week and we are accepting tended bids until 31st October. https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/ed3cfe98-a69a-40e8-ba2b-ceb02ee202ac

We are welcoming bids from a wide range of organisations, or partnerships of organisations, and would be grateful if you could forward the link to anyone you think may be interested. We very much look forward to sharing the news of the published toolkit with you in March/April 2020.
