Helping refugees and asylum seekers with money and finances: free training for Volunteers

Leeds Asylum Seekers and Ebor Gardens Advice Centre are teaming up to deliver free training for volunteers working with refugees and asylum seekers about money.

The award winning team behind Money Buddies will cover four main areas over 4 weeks:

  • Basic Banking – including effective tactics for getting bank account
  • Credit and Debt – including credit unions
  • Managing money – budgeting and making your money go further
  • Getting help with money problems – stopping things from getting out of hand

Delegates will be left with a huge range of easy-to understand resources in simple English that they can use and share with others.

We are particularly interested in getting members of refugee community organisations to come along.

We plan on holding the four half-day sessions on Mondays in November/December and would like your help deciding which 4 weeks are best.

If you or someone you know are interested in attending this, please register your interest below, and we’ll be in touch in a few weeks.
