An introduction to supporting the needs of refugee children in schools.
- This course will provide an introduction to key terminology relating to international new arrival children, the reasons that people need to flee, what the journey to safety may involve.
- It will give an overview of the asylum process in the UK and the emotional impact of these experiences on children’s well being and educational achievement.
- This course will provide an opportunity to examine the specific needs of refugee children and positive strategies to support them to reach their potential.
- We will explore ways to ensure schools are safe, inclusive and welcoming for all.
