Expert Consultation Invite – Social Venture School+ 22nd May (Bradford)

“At Participate we offer support to new-start social ventures through our Social Venture School. We try and find people in the community who have ideas for social change. We have supported 91 people to start a social venture over the past few years and given out over £35, 000 in seed funding.

We truly believe that people facing disadvantage have the best ideas for social change; but they are often not given the support needed to articulate, develop and deliver those ideas.

We are currently looking to develop a new programme called Social Venture School +, that specifically works with people facing multiple disadvantage who have ideas for social change. We are looking to develop a programme that can be run in partnership with other charities, specifically tailored to their clients needs.

The first step towards this is for us to look at our delivery model and consider what adjustments we need to make to ensure we provide the right support for particular client groups. We want to understand what challenges and issues certain client groups may face when going through our programme and how we can best support these. We are considering a number of different client groups as part of the research piece, including, health (mental and physical), offending, young people leaving care, unemployment, learning disability, dependency, violence, exploitation, refugees, debt, young parents and carers.

We are hosting a working lunch, where we are inviting you as an expert in one or more of these fields to feed into our programme and and help us shape some new programmes specifically tailored to your clients needs.

When: 22nd May, 10.30am until 1pm (tasty lunch provided by a social enterprise)

Where: Glyde House, Glydegate, Bradford, BD5 0BQ”
