We are pleased to announce that the Refugee Council is now accepting referrals for STEP Forward ESOL classes. Our capacity this year is 40 clients.
STEP Forward is a targeted programme for refugee women encompassing ESOL, literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, financial literacy, volunteering, mentorship, wellbeing and women-led sessions.
The programme is designed to specifically address the needs of refugee women and overcome barriers to learning and integration. Classes take place during school-term time and childcare and transport costs are covered. Women also receive a laptop which will be theirs to keep if they complete the programme.
The programme is open to women with refugee status and Entry Level 2 English or lower.
