Leeds Trinity University, in partnership with Leeds Development Education Centre, is proud to host Global Link’s Escape to Safety Exhibition, from Monday 21 to Thursday 24 October 2019, on campus.

Students, staff, partners and friends of the University are invited to attend the interactive, multi-media installation that enables you to experience something of what it is like to be a refugee seeking asylum in Britain.

What’s happening?

Become an asylum-seeker for half an hour.

Journey through the exhibition as if you were fleeing your country and seeking asylum in the UK.

Walk through a labyrinth of eight stations, depicting the different stages a refugee experiences before seeking asylum in Britain.

Think about issues such as:

  • What is the welcome we want to give to refugees?
  • What is your image of asylum seekers in Britain?
  • Where does this image come from?

Listen to refugee voices from Sudan, Afghanistan and Iran as they interact with border immigration officials and the media.
