Developing basic digital skills with ESOL learners – 2nd July 2019

We have nicked this content from the Volition Newsletter, because noone’s posted it here

An exploratory workshop to develop a strategy for developing basic digital skills with ESOL learners in Leeds.
When? Tuesday 2 July 2019, 9:30am – 3:00pm
Where? The Sanderson Room (3rd Floor), Leeds Central Library, Calverley Street Leeds LS1 3AB.

100% Digital Leeds understand the barriers to digital inclusion that ESOL learners face; in addition to the language barrier there are often many other obstacles to successful integration.

They are aware that this is a problem for all organisations who work to digitally upskill ESOL learners, and they hope to work together to find a solution.

Alan Parker from Three, who has recently developed a similar approach for Islington will be attending the event.

Andy will share his learning and some of the practical approaches he has developed to support the digital inclusion of ESOL learners, much of which will be replicable in Leeds.

If you’re part of an organisation that supports ESOL learners, understand the need for your service users to develop their digital skills but find it difficult to offer the right support, and would like to come together to find a solution, please come along.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
