Cultural Food Hubs during Lockdown 2

As we enter a second lockdown the cultural food hub will continue to operate as normal.

Hamara and Give a Gift have been identified by the council to act as the Cultural Food Hubs for the city to provide support to residents in Leeds who need access to emergency food which better meet their cultural needs.

The Cultural Food Hubs provide food to meet diverse need such as: rice, variety of flours, dried pulses, ginger, garlic, oil, tinned and dried pulses, fresh veg, seasonings and spices etc. This will not include non-essential items or food with strict storage controls, such as, fresh meat.

Hamara will co-ordinate cultural food provision for South, West and North of the city

Give a Gift will co-ordinate cultural food provision for East of the city

Access to cultural food hub:

  • Anyone can refer or self-refer directly to the cultural food hub.
  • The cultural food hubs will to continue to support ward hubs with access to culturally appropriate food so this is available locally

 Partnership working with organisations:
