Could your org host a mobile library and exhibition dedicated to refugees in November?

Echo Refugee Library is an amazing mobile library that travels between  refugee camps and community centres in Greece and lends out books to the people living there.

The project was also recently featured in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/books/shortcuts/2017/aug/06/children-say-it-feels-like-home-the-mobile-library-for-refugees-in-greece

The ECHO project is hoping to come to the UK in November with their van full of books. They’re looking for friendly places (bookshops, cafes/pubs, organisations’ spaces, maybe even pop-up spaces outdoors) where they can talk about the library and what’s been happening for refugees and asylum seekers.

There could also be a small exhibition of work by photographers and refugee artists.

We would be really grateful to hear of any suggestions of spaces in Leeds (or elsewhere in the UK) that might be interested in hosting ECHO Refugee Library. We are very happy to answer any questions about the project.

For more information about the library, please also visit ECHO’s website: http://echo-greece.org/projects/

Please email Debra if you are interested in helping out
