The next short Third Sector Leeds (TSL) workshop on 29 June 2017 will focus on community cohesion and resilience.
Community cohesion has been defined in many different ways but at its core it is about establishing shared values and building better relationships by bringing people together across cultural divides regardless of a person’s age, disability, gender, race, sexual orientation or religion / belief.
Resilience is a similarily contested term, but in this context we’ll be exploring how cohesive communities are more able to mobilise to provide support in times of crisis.
The workshop will hear updates from Leeds City Council colleagues about work going on across the city to support community cohesion, alongside opportunities for third sector organisations to:
- Share information about work you are involved in
- Take part in discussions around how the sector works with partners to support community cohesion and resilience
- Network with colleagues from across the city
This workshop is open to anyone who has an interest in contributing to this agenda and discussing how we as the third sector can continue to play a key role in supporting cohesive communities able to positively respond to challenges and opportunities.
